The best cure I’ve ever found for writer’s block is to do something completely different, whether that’s cleaning out your attic or car trunk. You get something done, and when you get in the shower at the end of the activity, your brain will usually reward you right when you’re shaving some part of your person with the absolutely PERFECT solution to your roadblock, and your problem has been redefined to keeping the idea in your head while trying not to nick yourself.
I’ve finally finished book two, titled The Horsethief, and it’ll be off to the editor as soon as he finishes teaching for the semester. After a few edits and changes, I’ll be publishing it early 2014, and needless to say, it’s dedicated to my stepfather, the ‘Zoomie’-est man I’ve ever known.
Welp, I’ve gotten back to work on books 2 and 3, but it’s been slow going, i just can’t seem to get or keep the flow going. Between sorting out final affairs, adjusting to the new facts of life, work schedules, and helping friends move to California, I’ve also been a little busy, and sad, not exactly conducive to long stretches behind a keyboard, or at least not very productive streches behind the keyboard.
